I bought some tulip bulbs that grow in a vase–just add water! They grew and bloomed as promised, but have reached the stage where they are past their blooming peak. I thought their graceful deterioration into their inevitable decline was worth documenting. For some reason, I prefer taking photos of flowers that are old, fragile, or past the blooming stage. There’s something more mature and graceful elegance to what’s being captured. Maybe it’s my old age as contemplate what it means to be middle-age or past the “peak” when we’re no longer considered in bloom of youth. There’s still beauty at all the stages.
